Kindergarten – 6th Grade

Children of all ages are disciples of Jesus. They are part of the community of believers. Their gifts and talents are given by the Holy Spirit to share Jesus’ love and grace with the world. There are a variety of opportunities throughout the year for children and their families to grow in their relationship to Jesus and to the community of believers. For more information on opportunities for elementary-school aged students contact the Faith Formation Team.

Come and have fun with the Zion Puppets! .

Children Leading Worship

Several times a year, children are invited to help lead worship, including the Christmas program. Children are encouraged to usher, acolyte, assist with communion (holding the empty cup basket), bake communion bread, collect the noisy offering, and by assisting in Holy Week worship and other special events. The next Children Leading Worship will be on Sunday, May 11, 2025

First Communion Workshops

There is no age requirement to receive Holy Communion. Children, youth and adults grow in their faith differently. Holy Communion is an unconditional gift from Jesus. Adult/child workshops regarding Holy Communion are held twice a year.

If you have questions, concerns, or would like to discuss first communion, please contact the pastor.

Bibles For Children

Bibles are part of the children’s faith journey. When they were baptized, their parents, sponsors and congregation members promised to place in their hands the Bible, the Holy Scriptures, to nurture their lives in faith and in prayer, to share with others the message of Christ through words and deeds. Receiving their Bible as a gift from the congregation is one part of fulfilling those promises made in baptism.
