Our Money Story: Remember
Today’s scripture readings typically read during Lent and Holy Week, help us to remember our own money stories. Stories that can and do include a deep sense of mistrust and a scarcity mindset. For example, the Israelites didn’t always trust where God was leading them. They didn’t trust Moses and Aaron. And Moses and Aaron did not always trust God or the people they were leading either because they were not always sure that God would provide. Ah, there is the core truth about why we react so much when the church talks about money. Money and generosity are faith and trust issues.
